Your data, without the drama

THEATERLE is a daily Broadway character game operated by KGS Ventures LLC. In this policy, “THEATERLE,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to KGS Ventures LLC and this website.

• Game information. Your guesses, daily progress, streak, and game statistics are stored locally in your browser. We do not require an account to play.
• Usage information. We store gameplay analytics in Google Firebase, including which game and mode you play, the number of guesses, wins and losses, unfinished games, time spent actively playing, sharing actions, broad device and browser categories, and the referring website’s domain. A random identifier saved in your browser helps us estimate new and returning players; it does not identify you by name. We do not store the text of your guesses, your email address, or raw IP addresses in these gameplay records. We also use Google Analytics to understand pages viewed, game events, approximate location, and similar technical usage information.
• Advertising information. We may use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize advertising, depending on your settings and region.
• Messages you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

We use information to provide and improve the game, remember your progress on your device, understand site performance, show and measure advertising, prevent misuse, reply to messages, and comply with legal obligations.

THEATERLE uses browser local storage to remember game progress, statistics, and the random analytics identifier. Analytics and advertising providers may use cookies and similar technologies under their own policies. You can clear local storage and cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may reset your THEATERLE progress and streak and cause analytics to treat your browser as a new player. Browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals disable our first-party gameplay analytics.

Game information remains in your browser until you clear it. Firebase gameplay records are scheduled for deletion after 400 days. Browser identifiers expire after 400 days without a recorded play. Temporary security records use short-lived, hashed identifiers. We keep messages and other information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. Third-party providers follow their own retention practices.

THEATERLE is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

We may update this policy as the site changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date shown above. Your continued use of THEATERLE after an update means the revised policy applies.
