On Broadway in 1954, Cyril Ritchard played both Captain Hook and Mr. Darling, and he played Hook opposite Mary Martin in NBC's telecasts of 1955, 1956 and 1960. NBC's Peter Pan Live! in 2014 split the double role: Christopher Walken played Hook, while Christian Borle doubled as Mr. Darling and Smee.
That broadcast also revised the script to give Hook more depth and added a new villain's song for him, Vengeance, alongside classic numbers such as Hook's Tango.
Who is Captain Hook?
Hook is the fearsome captain of the pirate ship anchored off Neverland, forever plotting revenge against Peter Pan for cutting off his hand and feeding it to a crocodile.
