Disney Broadway musicals

Disney Theatrical Productions has brought many of the studio's films to Broadway, starting with Beauty and the Beast in 1994. The Lion King became one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history, and Frozen, The Little Mermaid, and Tarzan turned animated favorites into full stage scores. Newsies and Mary Poppins came from live-action films, while Aida retold a Verdi opera with songs by Elton John and Tim Rice.
