Link Larkin only became a singer when Hairspray became a musical. In John Waters' 1988 film, Link (Michael St. Gerard) is a teen heartthrob and dancer on the TV show, not a vocalist. Matthew Morrison originated the singing Link on Broadway in 2002, leading It Takes Two.
For the 2007 movie musical, Zac Efron's Link got a new song written for the film, Ladies' Choice, while in NBC's Hairspray Live! in 2016, where Garrett Clayton played Link, the number went to Corny Collins (Derek Hough).
Who is Link Larkin?
