Who is Maizy?

Maizy is a lifelong resident of Cob County who has never left the isolated farming town, engaged to Beau and deeply loyal to her community. When the town's corn crop starts dying, her curiosity and sense of responsibility push her to break tradition and travel to the city, the first step most of the town has ever taken outside its borders.

Her arc centers on the tension between comfort and curiosity, as she falls for the outside world and for Gordy, the smooth talking stranger she brings home, while trying to stay true to Beau and to the town that raised her. By the end, she has to reconcile who she has become with where she belongs.
