Who is Elphaba?

Elphaba is a sharp, principled young woman who has spent her whole life being judged for her green skin before anyone bothers to know her. She arrives at Shiz University expecting more of the same rejection, only to find herself thrust into an unlikely friendship with the popular, image-obsessed Glinda. As the story unfolds, Elphaba's moral convictions put her on a collision course with the Wizard and the political machinery of Oz, setting her on the path toward becoming the figure the rest of the world will one day fear and call wicked.
