Who is Glinda?

Glinda begins the story as a popular, image conscious young woman at Shiz University, initially at odds with her green skinned roommate Elphaba before the two form an unlikely and deeply important friendship. Over the course of the musical, Glinda's journey traces her transformation from a self absorbed sorority type into someone who grapples with real questions of loyalty, public image, and moral compromise.

Her arc runs in parallel to Elphaba's, and together the two witches carry the emotional weight of the show, exploring what it means to be labeled good or wicked by a world that rewards conformity.

Glinda's role in Wicked

Glinda is one of the two leads, sharing the stage almost equally with Elphaba throughout the show.
