Who is Radames?

Radames is a decorated soldier in the Egyptian army, admired for his victories in battle and set on a path toward political power. He is engaged to Amneris, the pharaoh's daughter, which places him at the heart of the royal court even as his loyalties are pulled in a very different direction.

That pull comes from Aida, a Nubian princess taken prisoner during one of his campaigns. Radames finds himself torn between duty to his country, his engagement, and a growing love that puts everything he has built at risk. His arc is defined by that tension between ambition and conscience.
